The Open Door: Ask, Seek, Knock & Listen!

As I rose this fine Thursday morning, I was blessed to hear some great news in the midst of a week that has dealt me many discouraging personal news flashes. This jolt of light and positive information has immediately reminded me of God's sovereignty and direct involvement in our lives.The text that comes to mind for reflection today is Matthew 7:7-12

Ask, Seek, Knock

⁷ “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. ⁸ For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
⁹ “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? ¹⁰ Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? ¹¹ If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! ¹² So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

 Jesus reminds us through the text today that God will never leave us despite how bleak the forecast or outlook on our lives looks. Remember family that no matter who may be against you that when we seek God the Lord of host will respond in kind. I would only like to submit an add on to the text that we must not just SEEK, ASK, & Knock but we must also LISTEN! God is always opening the door for those that believe the true question's not is God working but are we Seeking, Asking, Knocking, and Listening! Today I invite you to and I pray that we will continue to seek God's will for our lives and that we will find the open doors that God has provided for us. Do not be discouraged but be encouraged for we are children of the most high God!.
