Living as a Christian is not easy and usually comes with some form of persecution. A very real fact is that everyone won't believe that Jesus Christ is God. There are people in our families, on our jobs and that attend our schools who do not understand Christians and mock our lifestyles because of their non-belief. Sometimes sly comments and harsh unfair judgments make us feel bad and even angry, during times like these we must remember Matthew 5:43
43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 that you may be children
of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the
good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. 46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? 47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? 48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
Jesus reminds us what we are truly called to do as Christians, Love and Pray for one and for all. Everyone won't believe as we do, and that's not our problem! We are called to love.
Dear God today increase our capacity to love and teach others how to love as you do. In Jesus name we pray.
