Many people say when the going get's tough the tough get going. Christians instead rely on the Holy Word of God, the bible. When we encounter the storms of life right after God does awesome things in our life we understand that it's only the evil one. Today's scripture reminds us of the work we must do on behalf of God despite our personal situations and those around us who act like they have forgotten God and left behind their morals. Let's look:
The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me; he has sent me to bring good news to the oppressed, to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to the prisoners; to proclaim the year of the LORD's favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to provide for those who mourn in Zion -- to give them a garland instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of a faint spirit. They will be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, to display his glory.
Today reflect on these word's of both Isaiah and Jesus to the people of God. Internalize them and ask yourself how God is calling us to use our Sunday morning worship experiences as anointing fuel to bring good news to the community.
